  1. Love the mission statement(s). I get the part about teaching people about the child of divorce but my question is HOW DO WE GET THEIR ATTENTION? I think my frustration has been in getting church leaders to realize the importance of ministering to this population.

I love working with the child of divorce. Once you gain their trust they are so pliable and ready to hear about Christ and about a heavenly Father that will never leave them or forsake them.

    1. I really think it’s a matter of just banging the drum loud enough! That’s why I specifically included the section on calling the church to action. It’s not enough to just learn or empathize, we have to be called to action. I think of passages like James 2:14-18

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. (James 2:14-18 ESV)

It’s time to show our faith by being the hands and feet of Jesus to these kids. It’s time that someone stood up for these kids, and the church should be that someone. Part of our goal is to get the conversation started.
