Thanks, Linda, for another article regarding a very real life situation. It is so sad how people can and do act in the midst of death. We need to remember to think of the children first.
I agree that it is great to have an attorney who is willing to answer questions and I’m fortunate to have one ready and willing in our congregation.
I minister to single mothers in all sorts of situations and recently met with one who has serious health issues and is facing major surgery. She lives with a disability and in much pain, yet she mothers her daughter courageously. I’ve learned that one way we can be there for single parents is to simply listen. Listening is an active process. It never ceases to amaze me how much it means to them to have someone willing to take the time to hear them.
